My name is Ruth Kueny. After servicing and leading a Human Resources Department for 26 years, I have now transferred my dedication to helping others through Yoga, mindfulness practices and Pilates. I found Yoga as a means to cope with stress and various health issues. After experiencing positive changes in my own body, I decided to start teaching to help others find healing for their bodies, whether it is to improve posture, reduce pain, or move with more efficiency in their daily lives. The ability to share my love of fitness and wellness, and to celebrate with students as they achieve their goals are among the many reasons why I enjoy teaching.

My yoga classes (STRENGTH IN MOTION) blend the practices of Yoga and Pilates, combining both strength and mobility work creating new depths to the movements that students of all levels can easily modify. Class ends with soothing restorative poses to help present the balance that closely mirrors our lives. Expect to move, sweat, breathe, and restore! Students are encouraged to find their edge through breath and focus and as a result they leave feeling stronger, more grounded, and empowered.

After experiencing the transformative power of Pilates in my own recovery from a shoulder injury, I was hooked on the focus on mobility and core strength. The importance of mind, body, connection transformed how I now move my body and my yoga practice as well. I am passionate about helping students discover the same joy and body awareness I found. My Pilates classes are designed to be challenging, safe, and fun for all levels. I believe Pilates is for everybody! My classes offer ways to support the body and ways to challenge the body through proper alignment, core strength and functional movement. I aim to create a welcoming environment where you leave feeling stronger, and more connected to your core. Pilates is more than a physical workout, it clears your mind, increases energy and confidence. I practice and teach Pilates for its foundation in core strength and I want everybody to experience the power of a strong core in their daily lives. I am committed to helping people feel healthy and whole; gaining a level of command over the body and finding more energy and joy. My classes combine the Classical style of teaching of Joseph Pilates along with a Contemporary approach.

I enjoy sharing all my passions with my students so they might be able to experience their own shift, their own transformation, whether it is on or off the mat. Off the mat, you will find me enjoying life gardening or with my family at home or at the beach.
